A dear friend of mine is dying today.

She is leaving a life that was meant to be long but ended suddenly after only a few months, as her partner suffered cardiac arrest. Their shared dream of growing old together ended…Boom!

After three months of profound challenges, emotional, spiritual, and legal, she is driving away from the land and the house and the dream. It is all dead dwelling now as memory.

The first stage of transformation, death, was completed when she turned out of the driveway today.

She has no idea what her life will become. No image of the final stage.

She now enters the liminal stage that has no name in Goethe’s verse. It is the chaos between two worlds, two meanings, two lives.
